Rowing SA Clubs & Open Virtual Regatta: race from your own erg

Rowing SA’s free virtual regatta runs on the Row Nation web app. It’s open to rowers, club members and the wider community. Enter from wherever your erg lives, pick one of four races, and your result goes to Rowing SA after the close.

You already know what a solo erg session feels like. The quiet of your space, the screen showing your splits, the work visible in real time. What you might not know is that Rowing SA’s Clubs & Open Virtual Regatta runs from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 October on the Row Nation web app.

The window is Monday 5 to Sunday 11 October, with a hard close at the end of Sunday, Adelaide time. Rows from before Monday don’t count. Entry is free.

Age categories are Under 16, Under 19, Open and Masters. There are four races: the 1000m Sprint, the 2000m Sprint, the 4-Minute Endurance, and the 6x1min (six 1-minute pieces with 1 minute’s rest between, scored on total work metres).

How to enter, in three steps

1. Open the regatta on your laptop. Go to https://rownation-web-app.web.app/#/?round=clubs-2026 in Chrome, with a Concept2 PM5 connected over Bluetooth.

2. Tell us who’s rowing. Tap “Start rowing”, then add your name, pick your club (or “+ Register your club” if it isn’t listed), and choose your gender, age group and race. No account needed.

3. Connect and race. When the app asks, connect your PM5 over Bluetooth, then start your race and row it out.

Names show on the board as first name and last initial. Results go to Rowing SA after the regatta closes. Where results are identical, the place is shared, as in World Rowing’s indoor rule.

And if this week lights a fire, AIRO26 runs 24 October to 1 November on Row Nation. Same erg, bigger field.
