The Eastern Champs Are Live

Two series rounds built the field. The championship is open now: twelve days, six distances, your own erg.

Two rounds got you here

Maybe you rowed one of the Eastern Indoor Series rounds in July or August and watched your number sit on a screen next to rowers you had never met. Maybe you missed both and are looking at this cold. Either way, the series has finished and the number is still sitting there.

That is the gap the Eastern Indoor Rowing Championships fill. It is not a new event bolted onto the calendar. It is what the last two rounds were building towards: one championship for NSW, Queensland and Victoria, built on the Eastern Indoor Series.

What it is

The Eastern Indoor Rowing Championships 2026 are live now and run for twelve days: Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 27 September 2026. No team required. You row it on your own Concept2 RowErg, wherever that happens to be.

Who it’s for

This one holds the door open wider than most championships do. Club rowers who trained through both rounds get a real number to chase. School rowers get a result that means something beyond the squad. Masters-aged rowers who have not lined up for anything in years get a low-stakes way back in. Gym-floor regulars and people rowing at home on their own machine race the same clock as everyone else, because the erg does not care where you are sitting.

How to enter and race

Six distances are open across the window: 2000m, 1000m, 500m, 1 minute, 150m, and the 30 minute open rate. Pick the ones that suit your training, row them on your own erg inside the window, and submit through the Row Nation app or with a monitor photo. Entry is $30 for adults and $20 for juniors.

Twelve days is enough time to row it properly instead of rushing it. Warm up, hit your number, submit it, done.

The next start line

AIRO26 follows in late October if you want the next one on the calendar. But this one is live right now, and it is the one two rounds of training were actually for.
